When the lake is sufficiently frozen over and has been officially approved by the local council, Lake Thiersee becomes a beautiful natural ice rink. Whether and when this is possible naturally depends on the winter conditions.
Cross-country skiers will find some lovely routes in the Thierseetal valley and the surrounding area. The nearby town of Bayrischzell is also a popular cross-country skiing destination and is easily accessible from Juffing.
Yes. If you fancy a spot of skiing, there are facilities right opposite the hotel (a T-bar lift; the nearest large ski resort is 40 minutes away). However, the Juffing deliberately does not see itself as a traditional ski hotel. Here, the focus is on peace and quiet, nature, wellness and relaxation.
