Nature, exercise and wellness

Unhurried winter holidays in Tyrol

Winter in Hinterthiersee invites you to actively experience nature whilst taking things at a more leisurely pace. Whether it’s winter walking through the crisp mountain air, on the cross-country ski trails or on a toboggan ride – physical activity is just as much a part of the experience as the moments that follow: warm water, soothing spa treatments and time to catch your breath. At the Juffing, winter adventures in the great outdoors are combined with relaxing hours in the warmth. This leaves room for what really matters on holiday.

Cross-country skiing – the perfect full-body workout

Cross-country skiing currently experiences a comeback. This is not surprising; after all, you not only train your entire body but also enjoy the dreamlike winter landscape in all peace of mind. There is a peaceful network of trails around the Juffing Spa & Hotel. The neighbouring village of Bayrischzell could not be more beautiful for cross-country skiers. The Bayrischzell cross-country skiing enthusiasts prepare wonderful trails and have terrain that is perfectly suited for cross-country skiing.

Ice skates on ice

Ice skating – winter fun on Lake Thiersee

During a winter holiday in the Thierseetal valley in Tyrol, ice skating on the frozen Thiersee is one of the most special experiences. Whether it’s a romantic outing for two, a few laps for exercise, or simply enjoying the crisp winter air – skating is a wonderfully nostalgic winter pastime. And you might even manage the odd pirouette or two on the ice.

Skiing in Thiersee and the surrounding area

In Thiersee, the atmosphere on the ski slopes is also relaxed. Directly opposite the Juffing lies the tiny Tirolina ski resort, with a single ski lift and prices just like in the old days. It is mainly local children who learn to ski here and make their first turns in the snow. Just a five-minute drive away on the free ski bus are the Schneeberg lifts – another small, family-friendly ski resort away from the main hustle and bustle. Those looking for longer runs and more kilometres of slopes can reach larger ski resorts in around 40 minutes by car.

Wellness during winter holidays in Tyrol

Warmth, wellness, exercise, indulgence – and the lovely feeling of not having to be everywhere at once.
Not for all guests, but for quite a few, a good winter holiday no longer needs a winter programme at all, but rather the right balance between outdoor and indoor activities. Winter at the Juffing isn’t defined by a wide range of winter sports. It thrives on the contrast between being outdoors and indoors. Guests enjoy the freezing cold air and warm water, the contrast between exercise and relaxation, between snow and the sauna. They want to be outside and then come back home again.
