A retrospective
A heartfelt thank you to our literary guests, January 2025
For many years, we have been able to organise unforgettable literary evenings with high-calibre authors at our hotel - unique encounters that have inspired us in particular. They were moments of exchange, reflection and a shared passion for literature. The evenings were a personal affair of the heart for us - a contribution to culture and an invitation to experience great moments together.
It has always been a pleasure and an honour for us to welcome great authors and to see how literature connects people. Their works, their thoughts and their presence have filled our hotel with literary life and given us all unforgettable encounters. Our heartfelt thanks go to them for their marvellous contributions, which have made our hotel a place of exchange and inspiration.
At the same time, we have realised that there has not been as much interest in the readings as we would have liked. We have therefore decided to suspend the monthly reading series for the time being. However, this does not mean saying goodbye to literature, but rather a break during which we will observe whether interest changes again in the future.
This decision was not an easy one for us, as we know that the readings were special highlights for some of you.
Our house remains a place to meet, relax and enjoy - and we look forward to continuing to welcome you here.

What connects us withNorbert Gstrein, Christoph Ransmayr, Anna Kim, Maja Haderlap and Michael Köhlmeier? All of them have already read in our house and woken us from our gentle twilight sleep. Surrounded by signed books and secluded places, the Juffing hotel and spa has internalised literature.

A chapter of literature at Juffing
Gabriele Wild, born in 1982, studied German literature and Russian in Innsbruck, Berlin, St. Petersburg and Riga. She began her career already while studying towards her degree, working as an author, moderator and host for the Tyrolean literature magazine Cognac & Biskotten and thus discovered her excitement for literature events and literature transmission. After having finished her degree in German studies she worked at different projects in literature studies for some years and was also responsible for the programme of the literature event Innsbrucker Wochenendgespräche. In 2009, her path led to Innsbruck’s House of Literature at the Inn where she now does the programme and works as a moderator. In her function as a employee at the House of Literatur she is also engaged in the culture advisory board of the state of Tyrol and is a member of various juries for awarding literature grants and prizes.
